Tell us about yourself!
My name is Rose Di Nardo and I am an actress, producer, and writer. I’m from Toledo, Ohio and am currently based in Los Angeles, California.
My creative journey began young. I have always felt the need to create for as long as I can remember. Whether it be making short skits on a camcorder during family holidays when I was a kid or writing poetry, creating for me has always been a part of my life and expression of who I am.

If you are feeling a certain way, you can always turn it in to art. There is so much you can do to express yourself. I love coming up with creative concepts for photo shoots and showing a completely different side of me. Sometimes I’ll even be out and just get inspiration for a poem or idea for a film and write it down on my phone. If I am inspired by something I like to make the most of it in that moment and put it to good use.

My favorite part of being creative is that it makes you feel like part of something. I could be having the worst day and as soon as I put pen to paper, go do a photo shoot, or go to acting class, I feel centered because I’m in a place of creation and putting something out into the universe that feels authentic to me.

What inspired you to pursue your current creative path?
What inspired me to pursue a career in acting was really the love of getting to explore myself in a way that no other art form can do. You are quite literally stepping into someone else’s world and I am intensely fascinated by human behavior and why people do that they do. Acting always felt like it came natural to me and was always something that I’ve enjoyed. The idea of having a career full of make-believe and imagination really drove me to work hard to make it happen.

Writing has also been a love of mine because of how quickly I can get out exactly what I am feeling onto paper. It’s such a huge source of inspiration for me. I’m currently writing a poetry book and two new short films. I also am producing my first feature film script that I collaborated on with my friend Michael Herman called A Sequoia on Fire. I will be starring in it as well so I am so excited to bring it to life! What inspired me to take the filmmaking route was that I wanted to create opportunities instead of waiting for them.

How did you find out about TGS?
I found out about TGS randomly online somehow I think I saw a post when they first started and were looking for members. I read about Alex and what she was doing and what kind of people she wanted involved and just thought it sounded like such a great fit. It's always been such a great experience working with her.

Why did you decide to join TGS?
I decided to join TGS because I wanted a community of people that I could collaborate with and a new creative outlet. I love the opportunities to create and the people that go to the meet ups never fail to inspire me. Alex also really encourages growth and makes you feel like you can do anything you set your mind to especially because she does so much herself!

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
So many things. Life itself inspires me. It can be the smallest thing, a quote, the way someone says something, a flower, art. It's kind of funny because every time I get inspired by something I get goosebumps on my arms so I know I am feeling it! I try to find inspiration everywhere and just be open and allow however something makes me feel. I always want to come from an authentic, truthful space however I am expressing myself.

Fave aesthetic, look or theme when shooting?
That's a tough one because my favorite aesthetics are always changing! I'm a big fan of outdoor shoots in nature because they always end up being such spontaneous shoots and you can really go whatever direction you want to go with it. It's also fun when you have a specific location that you can theme your outfits to. I love B&W editorial looks as well they are just so classic and wonderful.

Do you have creative friends you like to meetup and brainstorm with?
Definitely! I tend to get trapped in a creative bubble when I am working on things so it is so nice to feel like I can bounce my ideas around and get honest feedback. It is so important to have friends that you feel like support you and also push you to be better version of yourself. Friends hold you accountable when you share your ideas and inspire you to make them a reality. Having community and people that believe in me really helps me to thrive.
